Update: Applicable from January 1, 2024

Payments, Discounts and Penalties:

  • Monthly postpaid invoices will be created and emailed on the first day of the month.
  • Payments should be made within 1 week, i.e., by the 8th.
  • If an invoice remains unpaid after the due date, a 10% 'late fee' will be charged, and the subsequent lessons will be suspended until the payment is received.
  • The preferred mode of payment is electronic transfers.
  • Card payments can be made through the portal or by clicking the payment link in the invoice.
  • Optionally, it is possible to securely add the card details in the portal record and opt for 'Autopay' instead of paying manually every month.
  • Cheques will be accepted only for advance payments of INR 10000 and above. Please write the student’s name at the back of the cheque.
  • For electronic transfers, please mention the name of the student in the transaction description.
  • No refunds will be issued for any reason whatsoever.

Lesson cancellation and registration

  • Cancellation deadline is 24 hours prior to the scheduled event time.
  • Cancel the lessons as soon as you know that you cannot attend. This opens the slot for others to register.
  • Any lesson cancelled before the deadline will be marked as "Absent, Notice Given " and will not be charged.
  • A lesson cancelled after the deadline will be marked as "Absent, No Make-up", and will be charged and forfeited.
  • Lessons unattended without cancellation through the portal will be charged and forfeited.
  • Please mention the reason for cancellation while cancelling the lesson through the portal.
  • Lesson cancellations must be done only through the portal. Do not call / text / email for cancellations and rescheduling.
  • Only if the portal is inaccessible, you may contact the concerned teacher before the cancellation deadline and request to cancel the lesson.
  • Please do not request any considerations for cancellation after the deadline.
  • In case of a medical emergency or sudden illness, you need to email a doctor's note / prescription. In such cases, the teacher may issue a make-up credit that will be adjusted against the next attended lesson.
  • Registration deadline is 12 hours prior to the scheduled lesson time.
  • You may register for any open lesson slot in the timetable.
  • Instead of last-minute cancellations of in-person lessons, you may request the teacher to do the lesson online. The charges for this lesson will remain the same as the scheduled in-person lesson.
  • If an ongoing online lesson is interrupted or terminated due to the failure of internet connection or any technical error from the student’s side, the lesson will be forfeited.

Progress Ranks

  • Progress Ranks of top 55 students (updated on every Sunday in the studio news) reflect students' relative progress.
  • Progress ranks are updated based on the average of the lesson ratings given by the teacher for each lesson. Recent ratings carry more weight in the calculation. Other factors like exams or performances are also taken into consideration.
  • The names of the Top 10 students will be displayed in the studio news at the end of each month. 'Top 10 credit' worth the fee of one lesson, will be given to these students if they perform a piece in the performance class the following month. *Performance class fee Rs. 100/-
  • Students attending in-person lessons will get a boost in the top 10 ranks over the students attending online lessons.
  • Consistent toppers will be given awards at the recitals.
  • Rank 1 student, who shows excellent progress in a lesson, will be given a 100% lesson fee discount (Star Student Credit) for the respective lesson. *This will be based on the discretion of the teacher.
  • Consistent toppers will be given preference in the allotment of lesson slots, performances, examinations, and competitions.

Responsibilities of Students / Parents

  • Arrive punctually at each lesson.
  • Thoroughly prepare the homework / assignments given to you.
  • Practice every day!
  • Do not just play and repeat the pieces. Think, listen, read while you practice!
  • Do not just play the notes, play musically!
  • Practice should be for improvement, not just for repetition.
  • The quality of the practice is as important as the amount of time you spend practicing.
  • Keep your fingernails as short as possible.
  • Talk to the teacher if you have any kind of questions, doubts, or problems.
  • Please make sure that you have a good instrument to practice.
  • Electronic keyboards are okay for beginners but having a full-size weighted key digital piano or an acoustic piano is highly recommended.

Wish you all the best!
