Nakul received preliminary training in Indian music from his father. While studying in Jnana Prabodhini Prashala, Nakul learnt Indian classical vocals with Ms. Keskar. He got introduced to western classical music at the age of 16 when he attended a music appreciation workshop presented by Prof. Awati at the Film and Television Institute of India. Thereafter Nakul took piano lessons with Roxana Anklesaria Doctor and completed his LTCL under her tutelage in 2010.

Currently Nakul is taking music lessons with British pianist and teacher, Mark Troop.

Nakul has also received guidance from eminent pianists, musicians and teachers - Paul Stewart, Marialena Fernandes, Parvesh Java, Karl Lutchmayer, Lynda Metelsky, Mathieu Gaudet, Parvez Mody, Mary Tickner, Stephen Perry, Greg Knowles, Jack Winerock, Arunesh Nadgir, Ranko Markovic, Maria Nemtsova, Kedarnath Awati, Nicholas Ellis, Katherine Rowdon, Minaish Doctor, Adwait Patwardhan, Aparna Kelkar, Pyarelal Sharma, and Shamrao Kamble.

Nakul has won the 1st place in 3 national level piano competitions in 2007 and 2015. He also received 6th place in Kawai Asia Piano Piano Competition 2010.

Nakul started teaching piano in 2006 and has had a very successful record as a teacher. Many of his students have received distinctions in piano examinations and won awards at competitions.

Nakul has worked as a music director and composer for more than 50 projects including documentaries, short films, theater, advertising commercials and a Marathi feature film. He has also worked as a songwriter / producer and has released 30 songs through his own studio project.

  • Performed at the National Centre for Performing Arts for Furtados Con Brio Piano Festival.
  • Produced and conducted Gunjarav Keyboard Ensemble's video recording of Beethoven Symphony No. 5.

  • Performed flute at ABRSM High Scorers' Concert at Godrej Theater, NCPA Mumbai.
  • Performed at Con Brio 2019, an annual music festival organised by Furtados Music at the National Center for Performing Arts, Mumbai.
  • Attended a choral and orchestral conducting workshop at the Goa University.

2018

  • Passed ABRSM Grade 5 Flute examination with distinction.
  • Performed Mozart 'Kegelstatt Trio' (K. 498) with Eshvita Menezes on violin and Shalom Palkhivala on viola in the second volume of 'All Strings Attached', a concert series celebrating the richness of music for strings, at Dinanath Mangeshkar Kala Mandir, Kala Academy, Goa.    
  • Performed Hymn and Fuguing Tune No. 7 by Henry Cowell with Joy Peter on viola in Con Brio 2018, an annual national level competition and festival organised by Furtados Music at the National Center for Performing Arts, Mumbai.
  • Performed Mozart 'Kegelstatt Trio' (K. 498) with Eshvita Menezes on violin and Shalom Palkhivala on viola in Con Brio 2018, an annual national level competition and festival organised by Furtados Music at the National Center for Performing Arts, Mumbai.    

2017

  • Performed orchestral part in the two piano version of 3rd concerto 'Ballade' by Medtner with Paul Stewart as the soloist at NCPA in Furtado's Con Brio Festival.   
  • Performed at Mazda Hall in a concert presented by Pune Guitar Society.   

2016

  • Performed a two-piano-eight-hands work at NCPA in 'Mumbai Piano Day' with pianists Sonam Lodhi, Priya Ann Fernandes and Nadine Jo Crasto    
  • Performed the primo part in a piano-four-hands arrangement of Prélude à l'après-midi d'un faune by Debussy, with pianist Marialena Fernandes at NCPA in Furtado's Con Brio Festival

2015 

  • Received 1st place and 'Audience Favourite' awards at Furtados ConBrio National Piano Competition, at the National Centre for Performing Arts, Mumbai.    
  • Attended pianist's training course at Trinity Laban Summer Academy in Goa.   

2014 

  • Performed at the Young Talent concert organised by The Stop-Gaps Cultural Academy at the National Center for Performing Arts, Mumbai 
  • Attended teacher's training course at Trinity Laban Summer Academy in Mumbai 
  • Got nominated in ‘Marathi Chitrapadarpan Puraskar’ for best debut music composer for Marathi feature film ‘Hou De Jarasa Ushir'

  • Performed as a semifinalist at Furtados ConBrio National Piano Competition, at the National Centre for Performing Arts, Mumbai.

  • Received Best Music Composer’ and ‘Gajananrao Watawe Memorial Trophy’ in Marathi Bhaavsangeet Spardha conducted by Swaranand Pratishthan.

2010

  • Completed the licentiate diploma of the Trinity College London, LTCL in Piano. 
  • Received sixth place in the third Kawai Asia Piano Competition, in Hong Kong.
  • Received third place at the first Furtados ConBrio National Piano Competition, at the National Centre for Performing Arts, Mumbai.

2008

  • Performed in a presentation by MMMF for Maestro Zubin Mehta, at National Centre for Performing Arts, Mumbai   

2007
